Privacy

Last updated 2 September 2026

Optoref is a static reference website for eye care professionals. It is designed to collect as little as possible.

What we do not collect

Analytics

We use a privacy-friendly, cookie-free analytics tool (Cloudflare Web Analytics) to see aggregate traffic: page views, rough country, referrer and device type. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not build a profile of you. No personally identifiable information is stored.

Feedback form

The feedback and pilot forms are delivered to us by a form-forwarding service (Web3Forms). Anything you type into a form (plus your email address, if you give one) passes through that service and is emailed to us so we can respond and improve the content. We ask that you do not enter patient-identifiable information. The forms are not used for anything else and are not shared further.

Advertising

Optoref may in future display advertising to cover its costs. If and when it does, this page will be updated to describe the ad provider, the data they receive, and the choices available to you (including, for visitors in regions that require it, a consent prompt before any advertising cookies are set).

Fonts

The site loads the Inter typeface from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google’s servers. Your IP address is visible to Google as part of that request. If you prefer, self-hosted fonts are on our roadmap.

Your choices

You can block analytics and font requests with any content blocker without affecting how the site works. The reference content, search and calculators all function offline once the page has loaded.
