Mechanism of actionEster corticosteroid (lower IOP/cataract liability) plus aminoglycoside cover.
Indication / reason for useSteroid-responsive ocular inflammation with a bacterial infection or risk.
Usual adult dosing1-2 drops q4-6h; may dose q1-2h for the first 24-48 h. Shake well.
PreservativeBAK 0.01%
Contact lensesNo lens wear during treatment.
Common / important adverse effectsIOP rise (lower risk than dexamethasone combos), aminoglycoside toxicity, secondary infection.
Contraindications & cautionsHSV epithelial keratitis, fungal/mycobacterial infection.
