Mechanism of actionMast-cell stabilizer, more potent than cromolyn; prevents mediator release and inhibits eosinophil chemotaxis.
Indication / reason for useVernal keratoconjunctivitis / keratitis and vernal conjunctivitis.
Usual adult dosing1-2 drops in each eye 4×/day for up to 3 months.
PreservativeBAK 0.007%
Contact lensesAvoid lens wear during active vernal disease.
Common / important adverse effectsTransient burning/stinging, ocular itching, blurred vision.
