Mechanism of actionHighly potent difluorinated prednisolone derivative in an emulsion; strong penetration, no shaking required.
Indication / reason for usePost-operative ocular inflammation and pain; endogenous anterior uveitis.
Usual adult dosing1 drop 2-4×/day (uveitis: QID then taper; post-op: QID for 2 weeks, then taper).
PreservativeSorbic acid 0.1% (BAK-free)
Contact lensesDo not wear lenses during treatment.
Common / important adverse effectsSignificant IOP elevation can occur quickly, monitor closely; cataract, delayed healing, infection potentiation.
Contraindications & cautionsActive epithelial herpes simplex keratitis, most viral/fungal/mycobacterial infections.
Pregnancy / lactationLimited data.
Practice notesPotent, smaller total daily drop count than prednisolone; watch IOP even on short courses, particularly in children.
